Hampshire Aeroplane Club offer experience flights/ trial lessons with a licensed instructor starting from just £109 for 30 minutes in a Robin DR400 (£129 for those wishing to fly in a Cessna).
For the more adventurous student we also offer Land Away Trial Lesson in our Cessna light aircraft for only £289 (and you can bring a friend). Should you continue you can log the time towards your Private Pilot Licence (PPL).
Is there an age limit?
The minimum age to start your training is 14, but you do need to be 16 to do your first solo.
We have a lot of retired and more senior students as learning to fly has always been on their wish list.
Is there a time limit to completing my PPL?
You can do the PPL course in your own time and at your own pace.
Will I have the same instructor?
At Hampshire Aeroplane Club we will always try to ensure our students are with the same instructor throughout their training, as we believe this consistent approach benefits the student.
There may be times where this isn't possible but we will always endeavour to do so.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the training is all dependent on how confident you feel and whether you or your instructor feel you could do with a few more lessons, to perfect the manoeuvres and build your confidence.
That being said, in order to achieve your PPL licence you have to complete a minimum of 45 hours training.
At Hampshire Aeroplane Club we have special offers for those students wishing to build up their flying experience.
How do I pay?
For any purchases made on our website payment is via PayPal, this includes Trial Lessons, Starter Packages etc.
For flying training, aircraft hire and groundschool these are invoiced with payments via BACS.
Are there any examinations in the PPL training?
There are 9 multiple choice ground exams to pass. Please don’t worry, you will have our full support and your instructor will be happy to explain aspects of the course, if you require a better understanding.
Do I have to be a member?
To join us for a Trial Lesson you do not need to be a member. Those wishing to begin full training or wanting to hire our aircraft would first need to sign up for membership.

Which aircraft is right for me?
This is entirely down to personal preference and, along with advice from our instructors, you will have the opportunity to look around both of our aircraft types to see which may best suit you.
